In 1662, during a visit to Medina, Abu Salim al-Ayyashi recorded that Prophet Muhammad (SAW) conducted Eid prayers at various locations, and three of them gained particular recognition. Among these, one is the site where Eid prayers were led by Hz. Ali (RA) in the Medina prayer ground, situated just to the north of the Mosque of Abu Bakr. This historical event unfolded during the time when Hz. Osman was besieged by rebels at his residence.
Originally built by Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz, Masjid Ali underwent reconstruction in 1990, covering an area of 882 square meters and maintaining a design reminiscent of its original form.
