The inception of the Medina Railway Station dates back to 1900, with the completion of construction by 1908, establishing a rail link between Medina and Istanbul through the Hejaz Railway. Subsequent to the Ottoman Empire’s withdrawal from the region following World War I, the Hejaz Railway gradually fell into a state of disuse.
Presently, endeavors are underway to revive the Hejaz Railway, and the Medina station building, accompanied by the adjacent Ottoman-style mosque, remains intact, serving as the final destination of the rejuvenated railway.
